Goss and Metrocolor Celebrate Double Goss Sunday Purchase Goss International (Booth 2731) secured an order for two Goss Sunday systems for Metrocolor. The leading commercial print company will install one of the presses at its plant in Mexico and the other at its Peru production facility. Renowned for its high standards of quality and service, Metrocolor chose Goss technology for these same reasons. “Our customers expect the very best quality and service from us and we therefore demand the same from the suppliers we choose to work with,” explains Dante Scottini, General Manager, Metrocolor Mexico. “Having installed our fi rst Sunday system two years ago, we know that Goss is a like-minded company with similar values, and we are confi dent that this latest investment will be as successful as our fi rst.” Metrocolor is a fast-growing company that delivers high-quality commercial print to an ever-expanding customer base. Sandro Urbina Garcia, General Manager, Metrocolor Peru concludes, “With our company’s sustained success, we decided that we needed to invest in these two new Goss systems to add extra capacity to both production sites. It is the latest step in our continuous journey to grow the company and ensure we provide the best solutions for our customers. We look forward to celebrating this next stage in our company’s development with plenty of Pisco and Tequila!” (L to R): Manuel Angulo, Maintenance and Support Manager, Metrocolor; Leonardo Clavijo, Manager Latin America, Goss; Teresa Alvarez, Operations Manager, Metrocolor; Dante Scottini, General Manager, Metrocolor; Mohit Uberoi, CEO, Goss; Sandro Urbina Garcia, General Manager, Metrocolor; Graham Travett, Vice President Sales - The Americas, Goss. Lehr & Black Turns to OKI’s C942 for Short-Run Prints Los Angeles, CA-based celebrity invitationer, Lehr & Black, remains at the forefront of creative and technological frontiers. The company’s high-profi le clientele demand shorter run lengths, design, and personalization and top-quality production with quick turn-around times. Lehr & Black creates custom invitations and event décor– unique, custom works of art for which the team has earned its reputation for creativity and superior craftsmanship. Their designs often incorporate white printing and color printing on colored papers, envelopes, and card stocks—all of which demanded outsourcing, adding to production time and expenses. Although Lehr & Black enjoys long-standing relationships with professional print shops who facilitate the production process, the need for on-demand, short-run print jobs incorporating white-on-color and color-on-color printing continues to increase. Lehr & Black needed a solution—something that would allow the company to keep projects in-house and save time while reducing production costs. The team heard about a new digital color printer that could print white and print color on colored paper and different media types. With this in mind, they attended GRAPH EXPO and went in search of this solution, and they found the C942 from OKI Data Americas (Booth 1001) with its original CMYK + white confi guration. The C942 delivers unprecedented media capabilities and is a groundbreaking device that can handle a range of media, including heavyweight stock up to 360 gsm, polyester, plus magnets and banners. The C942 is an advanced piece of technology that represents a new generation of digital production printing devices. OKI Data is fi lling a void in the industry with this dynamic device that allows users to expand their printing and presentation capabilities. For the digital printing industry, the ability to print using white has revolutionized the business. White ink has provided the opportunity for print shop owners to expand their offerings to include printed design on dark-colored and unusual substrates to create unique and special-effect pieces. “We had been looking for something just like this. There was nothing else like it at the show or in the market,” says Sol Lehr, Co-Owner, who purchased the C942 and optional EFI (Booth 1349) Fiery C9 Server, which helps optimize the fi ve-color and envelope printing functionality of the C942 – further increasing output quality, productivity, and profi tability. Jobs that previously had to be outsourced and took days to produce can now be created in-house and in a matter of hours. And rather than costing thousands of dollars, they now cost hundreds without sacrifi cing quality. Lehr & Black is thrilled with the print quality and variety of materials the device is capable of producing. “With this printer, we are able to quickly turn jobs around and move on to the next one. The C942 is everything we expected and more,” says Lehr. The C942 is providing Lehr & Black new opportunities to differentiate itself within the marketplace and deliver high-value output while saving time and money. With the integration of the C942 into its business, the company can quickly and easily print materials and high-impact designs that it could never before print in-house. Get Ready to Tango!
