Tool truck timeline 1964
Events that shaped the mobile
tool selling industry
This year marks the 25th anniversary of
Professional Distributor magazine. As you well
know, this industry has changed quite a bit –
particularly in the last few years.
When you supply tools and equipment to your
customers, you are not just selling a wrench and writing
up an invoice anymore (although that’s still part
of it). Now, tools can be complex, like scan tools with
connectivity options, and a sale can be multifaceted
and include everything from video promotions to
training and demos. Even power tools have changed
as cordless options continue to come on strong.
Take a look back with us at a few of the notable
people and events that have helped to shape the
mobile tool selling business over the years.
