Tactical discipline is a fireground decision-making approach that consists of three key considerations; staffing, combat intelligence and “science.” A practical decision-making approach is forwarded, offering alternative tactical choices based upon the tactical discipline doctrine, allowing participants to be able to immediately apply key learning’s to their respective agency’s operational approach. Study how civilians typically react to the stress and uncertainty of a fire or other threatening situation and learn how to safely manage them. Practical, hands-on tactics designed to facilitate search and evacuation, improve fire alarm response, guide people in smoke conditions, and enhance safe crowd control are discussed.
